Sixty years ago a cricket match was being planned – in the bar of the Crown Hotel, of course.  In July 1957 Surrey Cricket Club arrived to play St Albans in a benefit match for Surrey's D Fletcher.  The autograph list, available for sale, included some big names: P May, the Bedser twins, M Stewart, K Barrington, T Lock and J Laker. Many Fleetville children remember being there.
